Let’s make sure I’m available on your wedding date. To secure a particular date and time you should make a tentative booking for an obligation free meeting, as soon as possible.
I’ll email you a questionnaire to complete before we meet. The answers to these questions, along with out meeting, will help me get to know you and in turn, write a ceremony based on your story.
Let’s get together
This will give you an opportunity to meet with me, get to know each other, and decide if I am the right marriage celebrant for you. It’s vital that you’re both happy and confident with the person that will help you prepare and then deliver the ceremony on such a special occasion.
We can talk about your specific ceremony and how I can help you. I’ll answer any questions you may have. I will go into detail about the sort of service I can offer – all the legal requirements – and make recommendations that may help. Don’t worry! You will know 100% what you are doing on the day.
If you are happy – we can go ahead and book it in
I will now provide you with a 70-page booklet titled: Your Wedding. This is a gift from me, to help guide you through the details that will make your ceremony perfect. It contains readings, vows and useful information compiled by me to help personalise your wedding event.
Let’s do the Legals
We will complete a Notice of Intended Marriage at this stage.
You will need to bring your original birth certificates and photo ID or your passports. If you have been previously married, a Decree Absolute; or the Death Certificate of a previous spouse.
In Australia, you need to be over 18 to marry.
I will also ask you to sign a Form 14 Declaration, which I will have prepared for you. This is a Statutory Declaration stating that there is no legal reason why you shouldn’t marry.
On your wedding day you will need two witnesses over the age of 18.
If you don’t have friends or family in the country, I can organise this for you.
If you are bringing a partner into Australia on a prospective spouse visa, I can give you the necessary letter for the Department of Immigration.
Let’s get to work
After our meeting, I will work my magic and begin working on creating your beautiful ceremony. I am always available to discuss the detail with you. If you need any additional suggestions or ideas – just let me know. I may also be able to help guide you in your search for wedding – related services.
I also ask that a booking fee is paid at this point to confirm your time and date.
Let’s get ready
I will email you a draft of your fabulous wedding ceremony well within good time of the ceremony date. We will go over it together and make any changes required to finalise it.
